The Goldrush Group operates as a gaming licensee in the South African marketplace. Our undertaking is to primarily provide financial, technical and other assistance to the communities in which we operate.

Our commitment

Our CSI initiatives need to complement the commitments we have made as a licensee and as a socially and economically responsible participant in the South African economy.

The Group will fund project based interventions and infrastructure across eight focus areas, set out below.

Funding is not guaranteed. Every request is considered against the focus areas, allocation ranges, exclusions and monitoring requirements on this page.

Focus areas

Eight areas the Group will fund.

Project based interventions and infrastructure in the following areas, including employee volunteer work in any of them.

  1. Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development
  2. Sport development at grass roots level
  3. Cultural development
  4. Environment
  5. Welfare and Poverty Alleviation
  6. Employee involvement (volunteer work in any of the above focus areas)
  7. Music and Art
  8. HIV/AIDS

The company reserves the right to amend these focus areas on a yearly basis.

Funding allocation

Know the range before you apply.

Three types of application are considered, each within a set range.

Donations
R5,000 – R10,000

Applications for donations will be considered between R5,000.00 to R10,000.00.

CSI funding
R10,000 – R1,000,000

Applications for CSI funding should not be less than R10,000.00 and not exceed R1m per application.

Sponsorship
R10,000 – R100,000

Sponsorship applications will only be considered between R10,000.00 and R100,000.00.

Sponsorship noteThe official CSI page lists "sponsoring events & fundraising" among its funding exclusions, and also lists a sponsorship allocation range of R10,000 to R100,000. For clarity on sponsorship eligibility, contact the team before applying.

Monitoring and evaluation

What every beneficiary agrees to.

  1. Any beneficiary will be expected to sign an agreement with the Goldrush Group to ensure that funds are managed appropriately.
  2. Proof of expenditure will be requested from beneficiary after disbursement of funds.
  3. Project progress report/s with pre and post images will be requested from beneficiary.
  4. Funder will conduct pre and post implementation site visits.
Exclusions

What the company will not fund.

Check eligibility first. Excluded requests include:

  • Individuals
  • Political parties
  • Operational costs
  • Sponsoring events & fundraising

  • Religious organizations or activities representing a specific denomination
  • Activities that create an environmental hazard
  • Sponsoring events & fundraising
  • Operational costs such as staff salaries, rent and non-sustainable activities
  • Direct funding to be directed to government, except in partnership on a community development project
  • Organizations that discriminate on the basis of race, colour, gender or sexual orientation
  • Charitable fund raisers and beauty pageants
